Legacy of TheFayth

Before founding XXYYZZ Society, Faith Cheltenham wrote extensively under the pen name “TheFayth.” Her essays capture the voice of a Black bisexual activist grappling with identity, culture, spirituality, and social justice. This page curates a few highlights and reflects on how those experiences continue to shape our mission.

•  **Discovering hyperthymesia** – In a 2017 blog post, Faith chronicled a personal journey set to the soundtrack of Marilyn Manson. By tracing her musical obsessions back to the 1990s and recounting encounters with friends and family, she realised she has Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM). This realisation helps explain her extraordinary ability to remember details and patterns across decades.

•  **Activist storytelling** – Many posts document Faith’s fights against racism, biphobia, and censorship. She challenged Google’s blocking of the word “bisexual” in search results, organised protests when bisexual voices were excluded from the 2009 March on Washington, and championed visibility campaigns like Bisexual Awareness Week.

•  **Cultural commentary** – Faith wrote passionately about cultural appropriation versus cultural exchange, reflecting on experiences ranging from Star Wars cosplay controversies to everyday examples of misappropriation. Her writing encourages white allies to examine their behaviour and seek genuine cultural exchange rooted in respect and solidarity.

•  **Personal letters & open letters** – Several essays take the form of open letters to family members, community leaders, and celebrities. These pieces confront topics like transracial racism, domestic abuse, and allyship with candour and compassion, illustrating Faith’s commitment to accountability and healing.

These legacy writings reveal the depth of Faith’s lived experience and the fierceness with which she wields her voice. They show how hyperthymetic memory fuels her capacity to connect past injustices to present innovation—a through‑line that powers XXYYZZ Society’s work today.
